The Rise of the Weekday Wedding

Alpineevents

People are getting married in the middle of the week, did you hear? We’ve got people ditching their 9-5’s for their special day, but why? The weekday wedding has emerged and it could be here to stay. This post-covid wedding trend is sweeping the nation, and we’re here to convince you to hop on the weekday bandwagon. Or, at least consider getting first dibs and nothing but the best for you and your partner, through choosing a party planning off day. Okay, enough  babbling. Let’s get you started!

Why a weekday wedding?

With the onslaught of happy couples rushing to get down the aisle, supply-chain issues up the wazoo, and staffing shortages, there is not enough party planning logistics to go around. Planning your wedding in the middle of the week helps to allow more time for your guests to adjust, more time for you to get ready, and ample selection for venue and logistics! The general idea here is to allow yourself the most selection with the most time before you take your first steps down the aisle.

Which weekday?

Okay, you’re having your wedding in the middle of the week, but which day? Finding a day that works for you and your guests in the middle of a work week can be a FEAT. However, the experts over at The Knot are telling us to turn-up on a Monday! Give your guests the gift of time by allowing them the weekend to prepare for the party, request a Monday off of work, and a good excuse to start their week off right.

Who to Invite

Yes, you can still invite everyone on your list. No, not everyone will show up. It is a weekday afterall. The turn over rate from invitation to attendance may very well be low. Do not let attendance deter you! Still invite your friends, family, and acquaintances and lets get this show on the road.

Material and Supply Availability

Everyone (and we mean EVERYONE) is taking up events services on the weekends. Don’t be basic–be proactive. A weekday wedding gives you the gift of time, sprinkled with extra availability of those services you want for your ceremony. Events services have more availability during those “off-days” everyone forgets about when party planning, just ask us.

We know this blog might not COMPLETELY change your mind about having a weekday wedding. However, we hope that we helped you think a bit about when would be the best time for you to celebrate those upcoming nuptials. When in doubt, check us out!
