From "I Will" to "I Do"

Alpineevents

There is a lot that goes into the wedding planning process from the time that you say “yes” to the time that you say “I do”. Between the wedding planning chaos and thrilling adventures that come with organizing your big day, there are steps you can take to help guide you through it all. Here’s how we are going from “I will” to “I do!”

“I Will!!”

Congratulations! You took the leap, committed yourself to marriage, and in some respects, the rest of your life is in front of you. Take this time to appreciate one another. Don’t stress yet, the planning will follow this “honeymoon phase”, but the “yes” doesn’t last forever. You are only going to have that “just said yes,” feeling once with your partner–revel in it!

Plan

Okay, now let’s get down to business. You’ve said yes, now what? The planning process is definitely not something that we can condense down into this one little paragraph but we’ve got a few tips.

Pick a date

You’re going to want to have an actual day that guests can mark in their calendar. Pick out which day works best for you and your partner as well as the majority of your guests. Whether you’re having a spring or fall wedding, picking your wedding date strategically will help the vision come together!

Spread the word

There’s no party without the guests! Chat up your wedding and get the word out there. Get people excited about attending your celebration. Break out those invitations, get started on the Facebook event, and contact all of your friends and family. Get the word out in any way that you can and give your guests enough time to clear their schedules!

Dream

Those fantastical ideas that you’ve always had and have ever wanted, write it down! Create a moodboard on Pinterest, make inspiration cork boards in your home, or simply discuss your favorite ideas with your partner. Dream and dream big for your special day, this is the party of all parties–go all out!

Budget

Not everyone is  rolling in dough so budgeting is key! (For those of you rolling in dough, please promptly skip this step.) Create a spreadsheet with organized columns of what exactly you need for your day and exactly how you plan to get it. Having a central location of all things budget will help you see exactly where your money can go and where it can’t go. We especially love our friends at The Knot and their wedding calculator.

I Do

You’ve finally made it! The day of your tying the knot is meant to be fun, memorable, and everything that you’ve dreamed of and planned for up until this point. No need to worry about the guests because you have already allotted for snafus. Worry about yourself and your partner today. We are throwing away the moodboards and schedules and stepping out onto the dance floor today. Today, it’s all about YOU!

The emotional roller coaster of planning from beginning to the end can be daunting, but with the right agenda and assistance you’ll be on your way! As always, if all else fails, give us a call!
